Power only dispatch for owner operators.
You bring the truck, the customer provides the trailer. Lower cost of entry, less time at docks, and one insurance question that catches people out.
We book freight for power only operators running their own authority. 8% of linehaul, nothing taken from your fuel surcharge or your accessorials, and no contract to get out of.
What we book for power only
Drop and hook work moving preloaded trailers between yards, distribution centres and shippers. You skip most of the loading and unloading, which means more moves in a week and far less waiting. Rates per mile sit below van work, but utilisation is usually higher, so the week can end up ahead.
No trailer means lower fixed costs
No trailer payment, no trailer maintenance, no tyres on somebody else's axles. For an operator who wants to run a tractor without carrying the full cost of an outfit, power only is the cheapest way to keep the truck moving.
Trailer interchange is the thing to check
When you pull equipment you do not own, your own physical damage policy usually will not cover it, and the interchange agreement you sign at the gate often makes you responsible for it. Trailer interchange cover is a separate endorsement, not part of the standard certificate most people glance at. It is cheap to add and expensive to skip.
Read what you sign at the gate
The interchange agreement is a contract and it is handed to drivers at the moment they are least likely to read it. If the trailer is not covered, do not pull it. That is the whole rule.
