Step deck dispatch for owner operators.
A step deck exists to solve one problem, which is height. That single difference opens up freight a flatbed cannot legally touch.
We book freight for step deck operators running their own authority. 8% of linehaul, nothing taken from your fuel surcharge or your accessorials, and no contract to get out of.
What we book for step deck
Machinery, agricultural equipment, tractors, construction plant and anything tall enough that a standard flatbed would put it over legal height. Because fewer trucks can take this freight, it competes less on price than flat deck work does.
Height is the whole advantage
The lower deck buys you extra clearance over a flatbed. That is the difference between a legal load and a permit, and permits cost time as well as money. When we quote a load we check the loaded height against your deck rather than assuming it fits.
Ramps change what you can take
If you carry ramps, self propelled equipment becomes loadable without a dock or a crane, and that opens up a category of freight other trucks have to pass on. Tell us what you carry, because it decides which loads are even worth showing you.
Securement is flatbed rules with more variables
Same aggregate working load limit requirement as flatbed, but with machinery you are usually securing at specific points on the load rather than throwing straps over a uniform stack. The weakest component in the chain still governs, including the anchor point on your deck.
